I recently rejoined the meals on wheels board because I recognize the importance of this organization. I luckily have never had to experience hunger insecurities but I know there are many people in our communities that do. Being on the board is a small way I feel I can help.

Prior to her position as SASH (Support & Services at Home) Care Coordinator in Townshend, Jessy was the Assistant Director for the Brattleboro Rec & Parks Department for over 8 years. She oversaw the Senior Center and worked closely with the Brattleboro Senior Meals program. Jessy is committed to ensuring that the older adults in Windham County, and beyond, receive the care they deserve!

Lorie who is excited to re-join our board, enjoys hiking and swimming with her goldendoodle and spending time in nature practicing yoga. Lorie is active in her community where she served as an elected Member of the school board for 11 years. She currently volunteers for the Association for the Blind; she also manages financial statements for a local non-profit advocating for a nuclear free future.

Christine Hazzard has been a member of the Brattleboro Senior Meals Board since 2016.  Christine has devoted much of her career to working with seniors and adults with disabilities.   She was instrumental in implementing the SASH (Support And Services at Home) program throughout Windham and Windsor Counties between 2012 and 2020.  The SASH program supports seniors and adults with disabilities in meeting their personal health goals.  In January of 2020, Christine became the Executive Director of Brattleboro Housing Partnerships, an organization devoted to providing affordable housing in Brattleboro, which serves over 550 residents.  She has volunteered on several boards and many fundraising committees over the years.     Christine lives in Brattleboro with her husband and teenage daughter.

Marie Procter is the owner/manager of Procter Rentals. Marie is active in local organizations and volunteers as an Archivist for the School for International Training (SIT), takes Tai Ji lessons, exercises weekly with the Brooks Memorial Hospital Bone Builders class, meets with several book reading groups, serves as Secretary for the Asian Cultural Center of Vermont, is a member of the Senior Meals Board, represents the local Baha’i Community on the Brattleboro Interfaith Leadership Association, is a member of the Brattleboro Compassion Committee, and is the Secretary of the Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of the Town of Brattleboro.
