Information on How to Receive Take Out Meals and Meals on Wheels During the Corona Crisis

| Senior Meals News

Brattleboro Senior Meals is committed to serving the senior residents of the Brattleboro Area during the Corona crisis. In order to do this, we have instituted some changes in our services.

For Anyone Who Wishes to Order Meals for Takeout

There will be no congregate dining until further notice.

There will be a takeout service for any senior who wishes to have a meal during this time. In order to have a takeout meal, you must call (802) 257-1236 before 9AM to reserve your meal for that day. All meals must be picked up between 11 AM and 11:30AM at the back door of the Senior Center.  The suggested donation is $5 per meal.  A donation box will be left to accommodate this. We will attempt to provide meals and stay as true to the menu as possible.  There will be no access to the building. Please call if you have any difficulties.

For Those Receiving Meals on Wheels

During the pandemic, the protocol for receiving meals on wheels has changed in order to maintain a safe social distance between you and your meal delivery volunteers.

Please leave a container or a plastic bag on your doorknob for your meal. The volunteer will leave your meal in this container and ring your bell or knock on your door. The volunteer will then step back and wait for you to answer the door to make sure you have received the meal.

Delivery times have changed to manage the increased number of recipients that are receiving meals. Deliveries may occur any time between 10:15 AM and 12:30 PM. If you or a member of your household will not be available to receive a delivery, please call (802) 257-1236 to see if we can make other arrangements for you to receive your meal. It is very important to call if you are not available to receive a meal.  This system may not work for everyone. If you are having difficulties with this, please call (802) 257-1236. It is our goal to make sure that you and your meal are safe.
